Ammonite Studios, a global creative and technical studio are looking for a fantastic full-time Technical Project Manager to join the team.


You will be responsible for providing production management services to a range of high scale commercial theatre projects; proactively supporting the project initiation and progress, communicating the client brief to relevant departments and supporting the Senior Project Manager in assessing schedules, workflows and key internal support lines.


Ammonites Production arm supports and acts as Technical Producers, Production Managers and Technical Directors on a wide range of projects in the worlds of Commercial Theatre, Live Events and Exhibitions. The Technical Project Manager will be working as part of a team to help deliver a large range of projects. You will need to be confident in leading on projects whilst also taking a supporting role in others.


Maintaining an active reporting conduit to the CEO, Technical Manager and Senior Project Manager, in time-sensitive and pressured periods of activity is essential to the success of the role. This is a client-facing position where knowledge, confidence and communication are paramount.


We are a part office and part remote working team due to the nature of the industry - there will be some evenings and weekend work dependant on the project.

Outline Of Responsibilities:



Day to day management overseeing several large scale projects across theatre, events and installations Supporting & maintaining an active reporting conduit to the CEO, Technical Manager and Senior Project Manager, especially in time-sensitive and pressured periods of activity Managing budgets, negotiations, coordinating and chairing meetings and communicating with clients. Maintaining order in the internal filing systems and filing documents Contact and booking freelance staff for relevant projects.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:



Bachelor's degree in a theatre, technical theatre or related subject field

Essential Skills:



Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace Excellent numerical proficiency with proven skills in managing budgets Demonstrates high level of organisational and administrative skill gained in a commercial theatre or live events setting Confidence and authority when dealing with complex production terminology and processes. Experience of working with and managing freelance creative and production staff Knowledge of production related health and safety Excellent time management, scheduling and communication skills Proven, excellent organisational skills 12 months experience in a similar role in the theatre, live events, or exhibition industry Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment Experience in producing rigorous, detailed project documentation and presentation Experience in a client facing position - the ability to demonstrate industry knowledge, confidence in communication is essential. Experience working in a busy commercial arts environment Excellent attention to detail

Desirable Skills:



Creative research skills A good standard of Technical proficiency in event management protocols (ie lighting, sound, staging or similar)

Remuneration and Hours:




This post is offered as a full time position:


Salary: 38,000 - 40,000 per annum dependant on experience


Working hours are generally 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday, but there will be some evenings and weekend work dependant on the project


Holiday: 20 days per annum (bank holidays are in addition to this)


Probationary period: 3 months


Notice period: 8 weeks


Following 12 weeks' service and a successful probationary period, you will be automatically enrolled into the NEST pension scheme.


Location: This position is based at the Ammonite Studios offices - 68 Hanbury Street, London, E1 5JL. There is the option to work remotely one or two days per week.
