Essential Skills / Qualifications / Attributes




Min 5years MEP on site supervision experience as non-working supervisor on fast pace high rise residential / student / BTR projects. Time served experienced City & Guilds qualified Engineer with minimum relevant NVQ3 (or equivalent) in relevant discipline. Solid experience in running teams on site including new build and refurbishment site works planning/co-ordination, and driving programme on fast paced sites. Practical time-served hands-on competence in mechanical installation, commissioning, trouble-shooting, and sub-contractor management. Strong knowledge of common MEP points of failure and key risks, failure prevention/mitigation strategies, and acute awareness of the importance of timeliness and thoroughness of QA processes - in step with the build sequence. Confident communicator with experience in client/main contractor facing role and supervising and co-ordinating in-house and sub-contract teams. Ability to motivate site teams positively, inspiring trust and confidence through competence to ensure we deliver consistently for customers. Calm under pressure, pragmatic and logical in approach to plan what is needed and get the job done properly and on time. Good eye for detail, highly organised, and excellent at site record keeping. Strong working knowledge of all MS Office Applications and use of common customer portals (e.g. Fieldview, Aconex etc). Customer focussed - willing to go the extra mile to consistently deliver an excellent Customer experience by delivering on promises and ensuring timely and proper close out of all commitments made by, or on behalf of, the Company. Sound commercial awareness, with good understanding of the importance of meeting agreed dates and keeping good records. Safe pair of hands. Approach to any disputes is always professional, timely, honourable, firm, and fair. Aftersales experience, including rapid response (hands-on when necessary) re-active call-out works fault diagnostics and ability to deliver first-fix solutions wherever possible, as well as knowledge of what good PPM looks like. Highly organised and driven individual committed to delivering excellence through great teamwork, sound decision making, and clear and timely communications. Experienced in ISO-9001:2015/ ISO-45001:2015 / ISO-14001:2018 quality management processes. Willingness to lodge away from home week to week as required (return home weekends). Willingness to respond to short notice aftersales/re-active call-outs when called upon to do so. Valid UK car driving licence and own vehicle (business miles are reimbursed). Desirable Skills / Attributes:




SSSTS or SMSTS (CITB) certification. PASMA, MEWP, Asbestos (non-licenced), First Aid at Work, Unvented HW, Scaffold Inspection Interest in championing carbon and waste reduction strategies. Working knowledge of Procore software.

Duties:




To supervise the project delivery / QA of our in-house and sub-contract site teams, and act as the day-to-day co-ordination contact between our site teams, other trades, the office, and as required also the client/main contractor.

Keep the contract management team informed of progress, changes, and foreseeable issues etc.

To ensure all works are compliant and installed to specification and the appropriate British/European Standards as applicable.

To ensure that all contract deliverables are met, including ensuring all QA records and handover packs are complete and any agreed milestones are achieved.

To ensure team focus on key points of failure and ensure risks are eliminated/mitigated. For this role, this means a particular focus on: regulatory compliance, escape of water risks, fire/life safety efficacy risks, agreed programme, and contract deliverables.

To collaborate with, contribute to, and support the work of the company QHSE Manager, and the ISO Team in their priorities, and support Site Supervision and Project Management colleagues.

To co-ordinate (and as required undertake) site quality inspection works, verify, and sign-off completed inspections.

To contribute to the team as required in respect of production of technical, programme, and QA project updates (e.g. 'Friday Packs') and site progress meetings.

To ensure personnel are suitably trained for the tasks and equipment they are using to install. E.g. Proper use of crimps etc. Perform periodic checks to ensure such technical training / good practices are being followed.

Ensure materials and equipment are suitably selected, received, protected/used, and site logistics/methods suitably planned to ensure quality is not compromised at any stage. Ensure equipment is calibrated when this is required for proper use.

To attend site meetings as required and to assist the team in closing out any actions promptly.

To assist the team in organising the site resources day to day, and working with the management team ensure safety, quality, time, and cost is well managed.

Ensure all relevant procedures are followed, maintain site records, and assist with site auditing requirements.

To stand in for Site Supervisors on an as/when basis when required to do so on site.

To ensure all installations are completed in accordance with the latest drawing/specification revisions and relevant standards.

To plan for and ensure ITP requirements are met and relevant notices are raised at the appropriate time, and stage sign offs are achieved as applicable.

To ensure the project delivery team as a whole enhances the professional offer of the whole company, and its culture is in step with the company values, always remembering that in a customer's eyes we are only as good as our last job.

Relying on their own technical MEP knowledge/experience, but also where necessary drawing on the experience, and knowledge that exists within other enterprises, ensure a consistently high quality and responsive service to all customers.

To provide technical practical mechanical engineering support/guidance to our teams as required to overcome problems and ensure compliance.

To ensure any changes/deviations are first agreed with the management team, and that as-fitted information is properly recorded.

To assist in ensuring project handovers are prepared for and completed properly. Plan and deliver any soft landing requirements.

To provide post-completion defects/aftersales/call-out response support as may be required from time to time. This may include hands on work troubleshooting and solving issues, as well as resourcing and organising/supervising any remedial/repair/PPM works.

To ensure NCR processes are followed, actions closed out, and lessons learnt are appropriately shared.

To positively align with company FIT values, and undertake any other tasks as may reasonably be required to provide the quality service that our customers expect.
