Job Advertisement: ICT Technology Rollout Specialist

Job Role/Purpose:
Are you ready to take a leading role in deploying cutting-edge ICT technology to our operational officers across the force? We\'re seeking an ICT Technology Rollout Specialist to play a crucial part in our upgrade program, primarily focusing on the deployment of Windows 10 operating systems and Office 365 solutions. Join us in shaping the future of law enforcement technology.

Person Specification:

Essential Criteria:

• Knowledge/Education: Possess GCSE Mathematics and English grade C or above, or equivalent.
• Work Experience: Have experience in a support role involving liaison with suppliers and users. Be responsible for configuration, deployment, and maintenance of technical equipment, including asset management.
• Personal/Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and creativity when required. Have the ability to document clear and user-friendly instructions and follow technical procedures with precision.
• Special Skills: Be IT experienced and literate, particularly with word processing, spreadsheet, and database packages.
• Other: Hold a current driving license.

Desirable Criteria:

• Knowledge/Education: Possess appropriate technical qualifications.
• Work Experience: Have experience with the type of equipment the Force uses.
• Personal/Interpersonal Skills: Ability to convey technical aspects to non-technical users in an understandable and concise manner.

Core Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Technical:

• Understand ICT Devices Technology thoroughly.
• Rollout devices to operational staff, providing supporting usage documentation.
• Order ancillary and spare equipment as required to support the rollout process.

Communication:

• Document procedures and provide assistance to end-users for equipment and system support, even with minimal technical knowledge.
• Provide management reports covering rollout progress.

General:

• Complete work within defined timescales.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures relevant to the task.
• Ensure that all systems and services adhere to the Information Security Policy of the Force.
• Work independently at various locations as needed for the rollout program across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.

Other:

• Maintain accurate asset management and configuration records.
• Configure equipment and systems to meet operational and support requirements while following prescribed security methods and protocols.
