Job Description

Upon successful promotion of our previous apprentice we are now looking for a new members of our team to learn all aspects of the job role and become an integral part of the technical sales team to support our customers when purchasing commercial vehicle parts.

The candidate will learn to take phone calls from customers who are ordering parts for their commercial vehicles. Look up the parts electronically, source the parts from a list of suppliers or stock and then quote the customer price and availability. They will then order / despatch the parts.

We can offer assisted private medical care after a qualifying period along with a pension plan that they can enrol in. we will supply a company uniform consisting of shirts jumpers and jackets and all PPE that is required.

Tasks will include:

Product knowledge by helping out in the warehouse checking in stock and putting stock in the correct place. Dealing with telephone order enquires. Look up parts on the electronic catalogues. Speaking with suppliers to order parts.

Hours: 40.00 per week

Requirements and Prospects:



Confident communicating face-to-face and over the phone

Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment

IT Literate and experienced using Microsoft Office

Good English writing skills Willing to learn new skills and systems

Adaptable to change

Professional and articulate

Happy working as part of a team and independently when required

Able to keep calm in challenging situations

Punctual and reliable

Good organisation skills An interest in the automotive industry, heavy machinery, or engineering would be beneficial


Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, we would like to see the candidate progress within Fleet Components, either through undertaking further training or moving to a more advanced role.



Training Provided:



One day a week is to be spent at Exeter College working towards:




Level 2 Customer Services Apprenticeship End Point Assessment Functional skills in Maths & English (if required)








Additional Information:


Due to Health & Safety requirements regretfully we cannot take anyone under the age of 17.


- Ideally, candidates will have achieved Math and English GCSEs at grade 4-9 (A-C), or equivalent - candidates should be willing to work towards Functional Skills where these grades haven't yet been achieved.
