We're looking for a

technically minded SEO professional

to take the lead on advanced SEO performance across a diverse range of client websites.

As

Technical SEO Lead at Submerge

, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, improving and scaling the organic visibility of high-traffic, multi-site and multi-territory websites. You'll work closely with our development, strategy and content teams to deliver measurable results and outstanding client experience.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who loves getting into the details - from crawl budgets to Core Web Vitals - but also enjoys translating technical issues into clear actions for clients and colleagues.

What you'll do



Lead the technical SEO strategy, auditing and optimisation of client websites. Conduct full technical and on-page audits using tools like Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Majestic, GSC and SEOcrawl. Identify and resolve crawl, indexation and site architecture issues. Advise on structured data, schema markup and international SEO (hreflang). Collaborate with developers on site migrations, redirects and deployment checks. Analyse performance data and create clear, insight-led client reports. Implement AI-supported workflows for auditing, analysis and reporting efficiency. Keep on top of Google's core and spam updates and translate them into client actions. Support Submerge's new business and pitch activity with technical expertise.

What you'll bring



4+ years' experience in SEO, ideally within an agency environment. Advanced understanding of crawling, rendering, site speed and structured data. Experience with enterprise or multi-territory websites. Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and CMS platforms. Confident using Screaming Frog, GA4, GSC, Majestic, SEMrush and log file analysis tools. An analytical mindset and a love of solving complex SEO puzzles. Clear communicator who can translate data into accessible recommendations. Enthusiasm for exploring how AI workflows can enhance SEO research, analysis and implementation.
