We're looking for an SEO Lead who understands how AI, automation, and geo-intent now shape search and who can turn that understanding into real growth for clients.

You'll lead SEO across our client base, reporting to senior management and working with our web, paid, and creative teams to deliver visibility, traffic, and conversions that can be clearly tracked back to your work.

The role

You'll own the SEO function from strategy to execution. You'll design and implement scalable frameworks that blend technical SEO, content optimisation, and AI-driven analysis. You'll also take the lead on client reporting, producing insight-led updates that explain performance and drive clear actions.

This role is both strategic and hands-on you'll build systems, not just campaigns.

Key responsibilities

Develop and implement SEO strategies across technical, on-page, off-page, and local channels Conduct technical SEO audits (crawl depth, schema, Core Web Vitals, site structure) and oversee implementation with our web team Lead keyword research and content mapping using AI-assisted clustering, intent analysis, and semantic tools Optimise for geo-targeted and local search (Google Business Profiles, service area pages, map packs) Integrate structured data and schema for better visibility and SGE readiness Manage link acquisition and digital PR with a focus on authority and topical relevance Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT, Surfer, and Clearscope for scalable optimisation and insight generation Deliver monthly and quarterly reports with clear narrative, data, and next-step recommendations Present updates and opportunities directly to clients and senior stakeholders Track algorithm updates, monitor competitor movements, and apply emerging SEO and AI trends Mentor junior SEO team members and help define internal SOPs and training frameworks
Skills and experience

4+ years' proven SEO experience, ideally within an agency environment Strong technical SEO knowledge (indexation, schema, Core Web Vitals, site migrations) Skilled in GA4, GSC, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Looker Studio Experience with AI-based tools for research, optimisation, and content scaling Confident in client communication, reporting, and presenting results Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and WordPress environments Understanding of how SEO connects with paid media, CRO, and UX Analytical thinker with ability to explain complex data simply
