Job Description


This is an exciting opportunity to manage a Technical Services team with responsibility for infrastructure services across City & Guilds, whilst working in collaboration with infrastructure colleagues supporting technical training.

We\'re flexible about where you might be based to undertake this role, but you\'ll need to be able to travel into either our London EC1A or Wakefield offices when required; and one of these will be your contractual office.

This appointment will be made on merit.

About the role

Working closely with, and reporting to the Head of Enterprise Infrastructure, you will be contributing to the definition and implementation of our technical services strategy and roadmap. This will include the establishment of a Cloud Target Operating Model, standardising our Office 365, IaaS services (Azure currently), Identity Management, End-user computing, Cyber Essential plus and ISO20071 compliance across all UK and international offices globally for City & Guilds.

Working closely with Senior Leadership, Architecture and Infosec teams, you will implement Technology solutions, providing infrastructure services including EUC standards globally. You will have responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of IT security-controls standards in compliance with Cyber Essential Plus and ISO27001, working closely with partners and internal Technology teams to maintain these standards and renew certification every year.

Managing a small team, you will take accountability for 3rd line support for incidents and provide problem management and technical support for projects (including testing) and architecture. Management of suppliers is also a key part of the role, both in the provision of day-to-day operational services, and performance against SLAs/Support & Maintenance contracts.

About you

Your will be able to demonstrate high level and advance technical understanding of IT infrastructure across on-premise, public and cloud IaaS. You\'ll have experience with implementation of Cyber Essential Plus in a medium sized enterprise and knowledge of security standards such as ISO27001.

You\'ll be able to demonstrate that you can manage a multi-site Microsoft Active Directory, as well as a multiple datacentre infrastructure including Microsoft Azure Cloud. You must have experience of EUC technologies such as SCCM, MEM, Azure AD, Operating System Deployment.

You will have experience of managing a team of technical experts, ensuring effective prioritisation of complex incidents and problems through to resolution, as well as able to demonstrable supplier management experience, ensuring delivery against SLA\'s. You should also have good working knowledge of ITIL practices and bring experience of supporting infrastructure for multiple users across Servers, desktop and web-based applications.
