The Faculty of Education, Health and Human Sciences is unique in the breadth and strength of professional education and training that we deliver. Within the Faculty, the School of Health Sciences provides high-quality education across a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes leading to professional registration in nursing, midwifery, health visiting/school nursing, paramedic science, speech and language therapy, operating department practice (ODP), and physiotherapy,



The University of Greenwich has made a significant investment in our Greenwich Learning and Simulation Centre (GLASC) and, more recently, the Critical Care Unit (CCU) on our Avery Hill and Medway campuses providing cutting-edge simulated practice learning environments that replicate real-world healthcare settings.

The Role





We are seeking an experienced and professional

Technical Services Operations Manager

to lead and manage our expanding Clinical Skills and Simulation Team across all Faculty sites. This key leadership role will ensure the smooth operation, coordination, and continual improvement of the Faculty's technical services supporting simulation and technology-enhanced learning.



Working closely with the

Head of Faculty Technical Learning

, the postholder will be responsible for overseeing staffing, systems, and operational delivery across Avery Hill, Medway, and Greenwich campuses, ,ensuring services are efficient, compliant, and aligned to Faculty and University priorities.



The role will focus on:


Leading and managing

the technical services team, ensuring clear structure, staff development, and consistent service delivery across all campuses.

Overseeing operational planning and resource management

, ensuring facilities, equipment, and systems are optimised to support teaching, research, and simulation activity.

Implementing effective governance and compliance processes,

including health and safety, asset management, and risk control to maintain high operational standards.

Driving service improvement and innovation

, reviewing processes, data, and feedback to enhance efficiency, resilience, and user experience.

Building strong connections with other technical support teams

within the Faculty, helping to align systems and workflows including support for digital learning platforms such as

Moodle

and

ePAD

to ensure an integrated and collaborative technical service.

About You





You will bring substantial experience in

managing technical or operational services

within a large, multi-site or complex organisation. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, alongside proven ability to plan strategically, manage budgets, and deliver high-quality support services in a fast-paced environment.



You will be confident in coordinating teams, systems, and facilities, ensuring that technical support for simulation and teaching is both effective and forward-thinking. Experience of

simulation-based education

,

digital learning infrastructure

, or

AV/IT management

would be advantageous.
