Summary



We are seeking a dedicated Technical Supervisor to oversee our heating system projects and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. This role is based in Stoke-on-Trent area and plays a vital part in supporting our company's mission to deliver reliable and sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities:



Gas Engineer Support & Development



Provide technical guidance and mentorship to gas engineers to ensure high standards of work. Assist engineers with complex fault diagnosis and problem-solving on gas appliances and heating systems. Deliver training sessions, toolbox talks, and briefings on gas safety regulations, industry best practices, and new technologies. Support engineers in obtaining and maintaining required certifications (e.g., Gas Safe registration). Monitor engineer performance and provide constructive feedback for skill improvement.

Compliance with Gas Safety Regulations



Ensure all gas works comply with Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, building regulations, and manufacturer specifications. Keep up to date with changes in gas legislation, British Standards, and industry best practices, ensuring all staff are informed. Oversee and enforce risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for gas-related tasks. Ensure safe working practices, including correct use of PPE, tools, and gas testing equipment. Liaise with regulatory bodies (e.g., Gas Safe Register, HSE) and assist with compliance inspections.

Gas Technical Audits & Quality Assurance



Conduct technical audits on completed gas works to ensure they meet safety and quality standards. Inspect installations for compliance with industry regulations and company policies. Identify non-conformances and provide remedial action plans to improve workmanship. Maintain detailed audit records and produce reports on compliance, efficiency, and areas for improvement. Work closely with engineers to rectify any identified faults or non-compliant work.

Investigation & Incident Management



Investigate gas-related complaints, near-misses, and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Carry out site visits for post-installation inspections and issue rectification notices if required. Ensure all engineers adhere to the company's health and safety policies to minimize risk.

Process Improvement & Technical Support



Work collaboratively with management to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency. Develop and implement best practices to improve the quality of gas installations and maintenance. Assist in reviewing and updating company policies related to gas work. Provide technical advice on equipment selection, installation procedures, and troubleshooting.

Pay: 37,000.00 per year
