About The Role



The Technical Writer role will be based at ourBirminghamoffice and will be reporting to the Engineering Manager UK and the Group Technical Writer, Australia. The role is responsible for creating technical product and project documentation to the required standard for both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities



Develop a technical understanding of TNA equipment working closely with designers and service technicians so that you can produce product manuals and other technical documentation as required for operator and technical level audiences. Research, develop, release and update all product Operator, Maintenance and Service Manuals and other technical documentation as required such as Technical Change Notifications, Functional Design Specifications, Engineering Procedures etc. Where required, arrange for documents to be translated. Produce quarterly updates of all major technical modifications, upgrades, retrofit kits and the like for both internal and external communications. Maintain document control. Support project managers by creating relevant project documentation. Address customer requests for information in a timely manner.

Qualification and Experience



Degree/diploma or equivalent in an Engineering discipline. Minimum 5 years in a similar role. Sound experience in designing and developing outstanding technical documentation.

Desired Knowledge and Skills



Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings Excellent technical communication, presentation and problem-solving skills. Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Proficient in authoring tools such as Help & Manual, Flare, DeepL, and other Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms. Forward-thinking approach to leveraging new technologies (e.g., AI-assisted writing, automation tools). A reasonable understanding and interest of mechanical and electrical systems. Qualifications or relevant experience in either area will be highly regarded. Ability to create / work with graphics is essential (Adobe tools or similar). Familiarity with the food and packaging industry is desirable. Knowledge of CE (European) compliance standards or similar is desirable. Exposure to 3D CAD systems is desirable
