As a technical writer, you will be vital in developing clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for our APIs and other developer-related tools. Your primary responsibility will be to produce high-quality, user-centric documentation that empowers engineers to utilise our APIs effectively. This will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and client services, to gather relevant information and ensure the accuracy and currency of the documentation.

Duties

  • Develop and maintain API documentation, including guides, manuals, tutorials, and code snippets
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to gather technical information and ensure documentation accuracy
  • Research and understand API functionality, features, and best practices
  • Present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner for developers of varying expertise
  • Continuously improve documentation based on user feedback and reviews
Requirements

Essential
  • Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, technical communication, or a related field
  • Technical writing experience, preferably in API documentation
  • Strong understanding of software development, RESTful APIs, and web technologies
  • Proficiency in API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger, OpenAPI)
  • Solid knowledge of documentation standards, structure, and style guidelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational and time management skill
Desirable
  • Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS or GCP
  • Experience in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
