WHAT YOU\'LL DO

This is where it all begins. We develop the new concepts that go on to become new Jaguars and Land Rovers. So, the emphasis is on building strong strategic, technical and financial foundations right from the start. We are looking for skilled and enthusiastic vehicle technicians to join our Product Development Workshops team. We are a multi-disciplinary team of technicians, working across four workshops in the UK and supporting Jaguar Land Rover testing activities around the globe. We are the primary workshop group tasked with preparing and maintaining JLR\'s very large fleet of engineering test vehicles for sign off testing, to enable the business to deliver world class products into the marketplace.

We cover a broad array of work, from a simple tyre change through to a full body re-shell and everything in between. We pride ourselves on having the finest technicians available, extremely knowledgeable and skilled people who are able to problem solve when faced with a problem no one has ever seen before and lead engineers towards a diagnosis and course of action to get vehicles back out on test. Across our workshops we have mechanics, auto electricians, software updaters, fabricators and body fitters. Working with this amazing team will see you become a master of your craft, an industry leading technician with skills across multiple disciplines. As an Auto Electrician/ Mechanic, you\'ll conduct modifications and repairs, and undertake electrical measurements and inspections of vehicle networks, systems, and components. Providing comprehensive technical feedback, fault identification, and problem diagnosis using diagnostic equipment, you\'ll also install updated ECU software, calibrate electronic vehicle control systems and support general mechanical vehicle fitting activities.

We also need specialist mechanical skills - are you familiar with understanding of complex dynamics systems and the tuning of suspension systems, understanding of braking systems, powertrain and transmissions?

Can you weld, fabricate or do a little machining? If you can answer yes to any of these requirements, you could be the person we are looking for. Come and join a fantastic team at the cutting-edge world of prototype vehicle development and play a part in what the future looks like for JLR. Working in our team will give you the opportunity to work around the world in our global test facilities workshops, which we support as a core part of the role.

From cold climate testing in Sweden to hot climate testing in Dubai, with year round work such as extreme drive cycle testing at the Nurburgring, high speed testing at Nardo, tyre development in France, Italy, Germany and Spain and other support at UK proving grounds such as Eastnor, Millbrook, Walters Arena and more.
