Working predominantly at Mayflower Studios, we are looking for an experienced multi-disciplined Theatre Technician with a strong bias towards sound operation and design, to support the Technical Team in the efficient running of all aspects of the Technical & Production Department, ensuring that all Technical, Facilities and H&S aspects of the department are delivered to the highest quality.
Your main responsibilities will be:
To participate in the smooth running of all fit-ups, rehearsals, performances, changeovers and get-outs as directed by the Technical Management team.
To be able to function in any appropriate position as part of a show crew.
Unloading and loading of set / scenery and technical equipment.
To maintain accurate equipment inventories and ensure all technical areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
Working with and operating lighting, sound, staging, AV and flying systems
Ensure our visiting company requirements are delivered, ensuring excellent customer service is always maintained.
Supervision of casual technical staff.
Our ideal applicant will have:
Essential qualities:
Experience of working within the technical areas of a professional live entertainment, theatrical or touring environment.
A good working knowledge of all aspects of technical theatre and general stagecraft.
Experience of sound system operation, programming, design and specification.
Desirable qualities:
Experience and knowledge of entertainment lighting systems, including rigging, operation and programming.
Practical experience of counterweight flying.
Experience of A/V and projection systems.
Team player with staff supervision experience.
