Job Summary


Techni Systems are a rapidly expanding company based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. We design, manufacture, and install mobile compressed air systems & carry out van conversions to LCVs for a variety of markets, including the Mobile Service and Tyre Industries.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our busy team. The candidate should be a logical thinker, with excellent organisational and communication skills, together with a good level of workshop experience and computer literacy. This role would be ideally suited to a time-served vehicle technician/engineer with on-the-road experience. The role includes mainly on-the-road work, with the possibility of some in-house installations. This is an exciting challenge with lots of opportunities for learning and developing skills.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:



Carry out off-site service and repair of mobile air compressor systems, ancillaries, and components at customers' premises all over the UK (occasional overnight stop-out required).
On-site installation of engine-mounted and standalone air compressor systems.
Commute to our Shrewsbury-based workshop will be expected for any on-site-based work.
Assist in the test fitting and development of new products.
Assist in the development and updating of fitting instructions and technical bulletins.
Maintain and keep efficient stock for field service activities.
Maintain good workshop/company vehicle housekeeping.
Complete all job cards on our internal system in a timely manner, providing a detailed summary of work performed and parts used.
Attention to detail and consistent quality in all stages of work and reporting.
Assist in the warranty evaluation process.

Essential Skills



City & Guilds/IMI Level 3 or higher/HNC/HND in mechanical automotive/electrical engineering
Fluency of English, literacy - written, numeric, and IT (Microsoft Office packages)
Automotive electrical knowledge with practical experience
A methodical and logical approach to problem solving
Good attention to detail
Flexible approach to working hours to suit customer expectations
Able to work independently, self-motivated with initiative, high energy, and responsible attitudes towards customers and work undertaken
Good organisational skills
Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality
Good communication skills
Strong team player
Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
Computer literate
Full UK driving licence

An appreciation of design & analysis techniques
An understanding of Front-End Auxiliary Drive (FEAD)
Able to interpret and understand 2D engineering drawings
Creative aptitude plus problem-solving skills
Compressed air knowledge
Auto electrical knowledge
Hydraulic knowledge

Training
