About the Role - Lead Chef within an Education Catering Environment

Act as the Head Chef, responsible for the smooth daily running of the school kitchen Plan, prepare, and deliver nutritious, balanced menus for students and staff, using fresh, seasonal ingredients Lead, motivate, and manage the kitchen team, ensuring everyone works efficiently and cohesively Maintain rigorous food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen procedures to UK school catering standards Coordinate with school management for special dietary requirements and events Oversee ordering, stock control, and budget management for the kitchen operation

Ideal Candidate Profile - School Head Chef (Temporary)

Proven experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, or strong Senior Chef in schools, contract catering, or similar environments Confident managing both people and kitchen operations under time constraints Demonstrates knowledge of nutritional guidelines for educational settings Understands compliance with food safety, allergen, and safeguarding regulations in a school/children's environment Clear communicator with a positive, team-focused approach Reliable, organized, and able to drive high standards consistently Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check required (we can help arrange if needed)
