Are you a skilled Accounts Assistant looking for a temporary opportunity in Edinburgh? Do you thrive in a fast-paced office environment and have a keen eye for detail?

If so, we have an exciting Temporary Accounts Assistant position available, with one of Office Angel\'s esteemed clients based in Edinburgh. This role is paying \xc2\xa314.50 per hour and has full time hours of 8:30AM - 5:30PM, Monday to Friday.

General Description

The role of the Accounts Assistant is to support the Finance Team in various accounting processes and tasks. Whilst supporting other departments to maintain efficient accounting processes and uphold financial controls.

This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial records, supporting project accounting activities, and contributing to the overall financial well-being of the company. This includes processing invoices, managing bank transactions, compiling payment runs, and working on Purchase Orders. The Accounts Assistant will also assist with financial accounting tasks, such as bookkeeping, preparing reports, reconciliations, and cash flow forecasts. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a team, attention to detail, and the capability to adapt to a dynamic environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Daily processing of invoices and ensuring timely approval for payment.
  • Bank Transactions: Weekly processing of bank transactions and monthly bank account reconciliations.
  • Payment Runs: Compiling payment runs twice a month.
  • Purchase Orders: Requesting new Purchase Orders and handling variations using a central SAP software system.
  • Purchase Order Tracking: Maintaining a tracker to monitor the status of Purchase Orders, coordinating with the Purchasing Department in Madrid Headquarters to facilitate the approval process.
  • SAP Procurement Support: Assisting in the creation of Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, and Variations, ensuring proper approval and evidence are obtained and documented for internal audit purposes.
  • Financial Accounting: Assisting in bookkeeping tasks for the company, including reconciliations of Profit and Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Management Account Reports: Aiding in the preparation of monthly management account reports, which may involve reconciliations, analysis, and reporting of financial data.
  • Vendor Payments: Preparing payments for vendor invoices on a bi-monthly basis.
  • Cash flow Forecasts: Assisting in the preparation of cash flow forecasts and funding requests.
Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Work Experience: While relevant work experience is desirable, it is not essential.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Communication: Possesses excellent communication skills for effective interaction within the team and with other departments.
  • Organisation: Highly organised and efficient with meticulous attention to detail.
Location and Mobility:

The role offers a flexible working environment, with a combination of office work located in Edinburgh and the option to work from home.
