Job Description


My clients are a leading independent property consultancy in the UK. They are looking to hire an accounts assistant on a temp-perm basis to work within the Rural Consultancy department.

The Rural division is currently under going an expansion plan and the team is set to grow as clients arrive in the coming months, the Head of Client Finance is therefore looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant who can help manage the day to day function of looking after the clients.

Responsibilities include:-
\xef\x81\xb5 Supporting the Rural Client Finance team in delivering a top quality service to their new and long standing clients. Understanding client requirements and assist in establishing systems and processes for delivery.
\xef\x81\xb5 Undertake a variety of bookkeeping responsibilities to assist a range of valued clients, including processing of credit cards, supplier invoices, rent collection and ensuring correct VAT records are maintained.
\xef\x81\xb5 Communicating at all stages with colleagues and clients where necessary.
\xef\x81\xb5 Adhere to and maintain policies, procedures and controls in order to ensure the integrity of the financial records.
\xef\x81\xb5 Preparation of VAT returns.
\xef\x81\xb5 Provision of bookkeeping services using accounting software. Including processing financial transactions, completing monthly reconciliations, preparing accounts to trial balance, resolving incomplete records and correcting errors in the books of accounts where required.
\xef\x81\xb5 Managing debtors and creditors and preparing payment runs on behalf of clients.
\xef\x81\xb5 Performing bank reconciliations.

Professional and Personal Skills Profile

Qualifications and Experience

\xef\x81\xb5 AAT qualified (or working towards), qualified by experience bookkeeper or equivalent.
\xef\x81\xb5 Experienced in the use of various accounting software including Xero
\xef\x81\xb5 Experienced in the use of other cloud based softwares that integrate with Xero
\xef\x81\xb5 Extensive accounting knowledge including VAT and PAYE.
\xef\x81\xb5 Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and all round IT competence.
\xef\x81\xb5 Experience as an accounts assistant or bookkeeper working in industry and/or practice with small owner-managed businesses or client accounting
\xef\x81\xb5 Knowledge of the RICS Client Money Rules.

Particular Aptitudes/Skills Required

\xef\x81\xb5 Strong numeracy skills and be able to reconcile accounts with the ability to learn quickly.
\xef\x81\xb5 Methodical approach to all tasks and excellent attention to detail.
\xef\x81\xb5 Display a professional approach and have the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
\xef\x81\xb5 Ability to organise own workload, working with multiple deadlines.
\xef\x81\xb5 Enthusiastic team player but must also be able to demonstrate a high level of initiative and self-motivation.
\xef\x81\xb5 Adopt high standards, a strong work ethic, and strive to deliver a "best in class" service that clients would be happy to recommend to others.
\xef\x81\xb5 Flexible in approach to work.
