Role Overview:
We are seeking a responsible, creative, and organised
Temporary Lead Arts and Crafts Instructor
to oversee and deliver high-quality workshop experiences for children. This leadership role is perfect for someone with a background in the arts, education, or child care who enjoys working hands-on with children and leading small teams.
As the Lead Instructor, you will be responsible for setting up and managing the workshop space, overseeing the Assistant, leading engaging sessions, and ensuring a safe and inspiring environment for all participants.
Duration:
5th - 29th August 2025, Tuesday - Friday
Key Responsibilities:
Lead arts and crafts workshops for children, delivering creative and age-appropriate activities.
Set up and tidy the workshop space before and after each session.
Prepare, organise, and manage all workshop materials and supplies.
Supervise and coordinate the work of the Temporary Assistant, ensuring smooth delivery of sessions.
Engage children in hands-on projects while supporting their learning and creativity.
Monitor children's safety and behaviour, implementing best practices for child safeguarding.
Communicate clearly with parents or carers at drop-off and pick-up times.
Collaborate with the wider team to evaluate and improve workshop activities.
Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene procedures are followed.
Requirements:
Aged 21 or older.
Proven experience leading or facilitating groups of children in educational, recreational, or creative settings.
DBS Certificate
- Essential*
Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above)
- Essential*
First Aid/CPR Certification
- Essential*
Familiarity with a wide range of arts and crafts techniques and tools. -
Essential* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Confident in managing children's behaviour and maintaining a positive group dynamic.
Creative, enthusiastic, and dependable.
Able to work independently and take initiative.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree or training in education, child development, fine arts, or a related field.
Previous experience as a lead instructor, teacher, or program coordinator.
