The Faculty of Health & Wellbeing is looking to recruit a Temporary Lecturer in
Counselling to deliver the COSCA Certificate in
Counselling Skills (SCQF Level 8) course on a Saturday morning
(9.30am-1.30pm) at Langside Campus, for 30 weeks across the
academic year 2025-2026. There may also be the opportunity to
deliver a range of other programmes and courses within the Social
Services & Counselling curriculum area.
You will contribute to the design,
delivery, and assessment of engaging learning experiences for a
diverse group of students at various levels, supporting them to
achieve their full potential.
Key
Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment in Counselling, using a range of learning technologies;
Support students to improve engagement, retention, and success;
Contribute to curriculum development and ensure course content remains current and relevant; and
Participate in quality assurance activities and maintain professional knowledge through ongoing development.
About
You:
To be successful in this role, you
will: Be
COSCA
or
BACP Registered or Accredited
and hold a professional qualification in Counselling at
SCQF level 10 (COSCA)
or
SCQF Level 8 (BACP)
;
Be
COSCA Trainer Accredited
(Certificate/Diploma level) or be willing to work towards this award;
Have
significant and relevant experience
in the delivery of Counselling services;
Possess
excellent communication and interpersonal skills
, with the ability to relate well to a wide range of student groups;
Demonstrate strong
organisational skills
and the ability to work autonomously; and
Have appropriate
IT skills
and be confident in using digital learning tools.
