Are you Design Engineer looking for your next challenge within Temporary Works?

About the company

The company are a well-established Contractor who\'s in house pre-construction team support their various infrastructure sectors across buildings, highways, rail and heavy civils.

The role

The role would ideally suit a design engineer with 2+ years experience in the industry, preferably with some temporary works design experience.

You will be working in a team of experienced engineers and be fully supported towards chartership.

Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7Work under the supervision of a Senior Engineer, to produce safe and efficient temporary works designs.
\xc2\xb7Develop solutions using basic engineering analysis techniques and standard industry guidance.
\xc2\xb7Understand and apply under supervision, the engineering principles of reinforced concrete, steelwork, falsework and formwork, shallow foundations, retaining walls and slope stability in temporary works design.
\xc2\xb7Use software to develop designs and verify using hand calculations.
\xc2\xb7Prepare clear and accurate calculations to develop a design/check that is suitable to be reviewed by a Senior Team member.
\xc2\xb7Be aware of and comply with responsibilities as a Designer under CDM and comply with relevant health and safety legislation.
\xc2\xb7Prepare sketches and work with CAD Technicians to develop clear and accurate design drawings.

Person Specification:

\xc2\xb7Degree in a civil engineering or structural engineering subject
\xc2\xb7Knowledge of 3D modelling software
\xc2\xb7Previous work experience in civil or structural engineering and/or construction
