Plug In Stations is a leading name in the EV charging infrastructure space, delivering high-quality electric vehicle charging solutions across the UK. We specialise in the design, supply, and installation of commercial and residential EV charge points, working with both the public and private sectors. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly motivated Bid/Tender Manager to join our team and lead our tendering strategy across construction and infrastructure projects.
The Role
This is a key role within the business, responsible for managing the full lifecycle of bids and tenders - from initial identification through to submission and post-submission support. You will work closely with our senior leadership team, project managers, and commercial teams to prepare high-quality, compelling proposals that align with our strategic growth objectives.
This role is office-based at our Enfield location and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience tendering for government, commercial, or public-sector infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and manage new bid opportunities through portals including Government Gateways and public sector procurement platforms (e.g., Contracts Finder, Crown Commercial Service, etc.).
Coordinate and prepare tender submissions, including pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), ITTs, RFIs, and RFPs.
Lead bid strategy meetings and ensure compliance with client requirements and deadlines.
Work closely with the CEO and other key stakeholders to develop persuasive and commercially sound responses.
Liaise with technical and commercial teams to gather input, estimates, and project methodologies.
Maintain a library of tender documentation, case studies, accreditations, and supporting materials.
Monitor and report on success rates and continuously improve submission quality.
Ensure all bid documentation aligns with brand and quality standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience managing bids and tenders within the construction, infrastructure, or electrical sectors.
Experience working with UK Government procurement frameworks, portals, and public sector clients.
Exceptional writing, communication, and organisational skills.
Strong understanding of commercial, technical, and financial aspects of tendering.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Adobe InDesign experience is a plus.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team effort.
Preferred (Not Essential)
Previous experience in the EV charging or renewable energy industry.
Familiarity with frameworks such as OLEV, OZEV, or other EV-related grants.
Experience with design-and-build or multi-site infrastructure tenders.
