Moog Military Aircraft Group in Wolverhampton is seeking a skilled Test Equipment Calibration Technician to join our TE Sustainment team. This role is responsible for the calibration of deployed Test Equipment, including Special to Type Test Equipment (STTE), supporting the full product lifecycle. The systems involved span mechanical, hydraulic, electronic, electrical, software, and power distribution domains. The technician will also support the calibration of new Test Equipment Systems in collaboration with the Test Systems Engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Calibration & MaintenancePerform calibration activities on measuring instrumentation to traceable standards.
Maintain and adjust electronic instrumentation to ensure operation within manufacturer specifications.
Support calibration of new Test Equipment Systems in collaboration with Test Systems Engineering.
Documentation & ComplianceMaintain accurate calibration records, certificates, and documentation in line with Test Equipment and Quality procedures.
Use the Moog Calibration database to plan, track, and document calibration activities.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety practices; contribute to risk assessments and adhere to safety protocols.
Collaboration & SupportWork closely with engineers to investigate and resolve issues affecting production, quality, or yield.
Provide timely updates on calibration activities to the Test Equipment Sustainment Manager and stakeholders.
Support root cause investigations related to Test Equipment Systems or components.
Quality & Continuous ImprovementAssist with internal and external quality audits of deployed Test Systems or sub-components.
Actively participate in Lean initiatives to drive continuous improvement across the site.
Uphold and promote Moog's values, including Trust, Competence, Team Spirit, and Accountability.
Key Skills and Experience:A minimum of a relevant Level 3 Qualification (E.g., BTEC Level 3, PEO Level 3, NVQ Level 3) in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years' experience within a Calibration role.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Experience using SAP, Solumina, ShireSystem Pirana, and Jira would be advantageous.
Qualifications in BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations and Safe access to Electrical Panels would be advantageous.
Special Circumstances or Unusual Challenges
The successful candidate will be a proactive team player aligned with Moog's values. They must thrive in a demanding engineering and production environment, managing test equipment and schedule challenges. The role may involve occasional out-of-hours work and requires the ability to work independently on minor projects
