Econ Engineering Limited is the UK's largest supplier of winter maintenance vehicles, and we are currently looking for a Test and Repair Engineer to work at our engineering facility in Ripon, North Yorkshire.
The role will involve production testing of all modules and PCBs prior to installation on the vehicles, reworking if necessary. Maintaining levels of production stock to supply production electricians.
Repairs to service stock to support field service and customer requirements. Repairs of equipment belonging to customers.
Technical support for customers, field service engineers & production staff (fitters & electricians) This can require working on vehicles.
Maintenance of calibration equipment used to certify the vehicles.
Development of new test procedures and equipment as the system evolves as part of the Company's policy of continuous improvement.
Maintaining service records of serial numbers of equipment assigned to vehicles for traceability and any repairs performed.
Maintaining stock levels of parts & components.
The successful applicant will need a good understanding of digital & analogue electronics including microcontrollers. The ability to diagnose faults using an oscilloscope, multimeter etc. Preferably have at least 2 years' experience of component-level electronic repairs. Good soldering skills including SMT. The ability to reverse engineer PCBs etc. when no information is available. Attention to ESD handling. Must be able to work on the vehicles when required.
39 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 8.00am - 5.00pm and Friday 8.00am - 4.00pm with an hour lunch break each day. Overtime may also be available.
