The Church of England has an ambitious and exciting vision and strategy to become a Church of missionary disciples, a Church where mixed ecology is the norm, and a Church which is younger and more diverse. The Strategic Mission and Ministry Investment programme, which supports and resources these aims, is one of the largest grant-making programmes in the country - since 2023 it has distributed over 334m.
The Board was created to distribute this funding, and oversee its impact through monitoring, evaluation and learning. We are now looking for new members to join the board, and be part of this important work. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about the mission and flourishing of the local Church in diverse contexts and traditions.
We are keen to speak to people who are familiar with the structure and operation of the Church of England through its dioceses and parishes and with a range of skills and experience across ministry and mission, evaluation, grant-giving and strategic leadership, to ensure a mix of perspectives in the conversation. This is a fascinating role, a chance to be part of a Board which seeks to distribute funding to support and grow the Church's mission and ministry across the country.
