The Core theatre is a buzzing multi-purpose arts venue right in the heart of Solihull town centre. Home to a 336-seat raked theatre, a vibrant gallery space and a flexible multi-use studio it's a hub of creativity and entertainment. We provide a range of services and host a varied mix of professional, community and amateur events including music, drama, comedy and dance. As a Core Duty Manager, you will:
Supervise the front of house operation, ensuring shows and events run smoothly.
Be the main point of contact for audience members and visitors to the venue, dealing with any queries or issues that arise.
Supervise and co-ordinate the teams working in the Cafe and Bar's and the Front of House volunteers.
Carry out induction and training of staff and volunteers
Be a key holder, being responsible for unlocking and locking the building as required.
Be a first aider and personal license holder for the venue. Full training will be provided.
This is offered on a casual contract basis. Working hours offered will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays, but we can offer some flexibility based around your personal commitments.
We are looking for people who are passionate and enthusiastic who can help us to continue to deliver high levels of customer service.
You will have
proven experience of working in a customer-facing venue such as catering, hospitality or similar;
experience of managing people and budgets;
experience of venue planning/scheduling
exceptional customer service skills, able to communicate effectively with our audiences and visiting artists/hirers;
knowledge and understanding of health and safety procedures and requirements.
the ability to remain calm under pressure, able to identify creative solutions to problems.
