About Us

SunDrama provides one-to-one and small group (2:1) with assistant, therapeutic education sessions for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autism, communication challenges, and social, emotional or trauma-related needs. We use creative, sensory-based approaches such as drama, movement, and the arts to help children build confidence, improve communication, and re-engage with learning.

The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated

Therapeutic Practitioner

to join our trauma-informed team. You will work with children aged 4-13 in community settings (and occasionally in-home environments) to deliver child-led, creative and therapeutic sessions.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, therapeutic education sessions tailored to each child's needs. Use creative approaches (e.g. drama, movement, arts, sensory activities) to build confidence and support communication. Support children with autism, communication difficulties, and social/emotional needs. Work collaboratively with families, schools, and caseworkers. Keep accurate records of sessions and progress. Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are always followed.

About You

Experience working with children with SEND (essential). Background in drama therapy, arts, creative therapies, education, or related fields. Trauma-informed and child-centred approach. Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt sessions to each child. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). Full UK driving licence and access to a car (desirable).
