About the role
------------------
At NFU Mutual, we're known for going the extra mile for our customers. But our commitment doesn't stop at providing exceptional service -- we're just as passionate about protecting our customers and business from fraudulent activity. That's where our dedicated Third-Party Claims Validation team comes in.
This role is all about investigating suspicious third-party General Insurance claims -- think injury and credit hire - to make sure that genuine customers get the fair, timely support they deserve, while fraudulent or exaggerated claims are handled appropriately. If you're naturally inquisitive, enjoy working with others, and want to make a meaningful difference, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist team with a big impact.
You'll be joining us at a time of exciting transformation, as we continue to modernise our digital tools and streamline how we work. Day-to-day, you'll be managing a portfolio of potentially fraudulent third-party claims -- reviewing evidence, assessing liability, and using our counter-fraud systems to dig deeper where things don't quite add up.
You'll regularly speak with claimants, solicitors and other representatives, and collaborate closely with colleagues across underwriting, legal, and our technical fraud and agency teams. Your role is all about getting to the truth of the matter -- applying sound judgement and investigative thinking to reach outcomes that are fair for claimants and responsible for the business.
What you'll be doing:
Managing third-party claims where fraud is suspected, particularly in injury and credit hire.
Using investigative techniques, digital tools, and a good grasp of legislation and case law to assess liability and spot fraudulent behaviour.
Building strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders - including legal counsel, suppliers and our agency network.
Negotiating confidently and compassionately with legal representatives and intermediaries to reach fair, evidence-based outcomes.
Recording clear, accurate decisions in our claims system, maintaining financial control and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
Fraud doesn't just cost money -- it erodes trust. By identifying and tackling suspicious third-party claims, you'll help protect our genuine customers, safeguard the reputation of NFU Mutual, and keep premiums fair for all. It's an essential role that sits right at the heart of our Counter Fraud Strategy.

Whether you're supporting a colleague, adapting to a new system, or balancing a busy caseload, you bring a calm, organised approach and a real sense of teamwork.
You bring:
