Tig Welder / Fabricator Technician

Job Description

An engineering company specialising in air measurement and ducting testing. We are seeking a skilled TIG welder to join our production team.

Reporting to the Production Manager and working closely with the production team to ensure our high-quality finished products are completed in a timely fashion for customer delivery. The technician will be required to weld stainless steel assemblies of diameters down to 4mm and wall thicknesses down to 0.7mm.

We are offering the role as Full Time 40 hrs per week, but will consider Part Time applicants.

Essential Skills/Qualifications:



Minimum three years' experience with TIG Welding especially precision assemblies. Welding to a high standard C&G L2 preferred.

A good understanding of fabrication techniques.

Competent understanding of mechanical assembly processes and able to read engineering drawings.

Willingness to learn new processes and products.

Flexible attitude with ability to multi-task.

Engages with continuous improvement.

Fit and ideally able to lift to 25kg alone.

Must have good time keeping.

A proactive team player, with good commercial understanding.

Attention to detail and ensure work is completed to a high standard.

Knowledge of TQM, checking and quality inspection of own work.

Background in an engineering or fabrication environment.

Methodical and organised approach to tasks.

Must be eligible to work in the UK without restriction.

Other Advantageous Skills/Qualifications:



BTEC Level 3/HNC Engineering would be of benefit or a technical qualification in Welding over and above C&G L2.

Full UK Driving Licence. (Ability to drive with access to a car would ease the commute as Stokenchurch is not easily accessed by public transport from some locations.)

A reliable, self-motivated individual who takes pride in their work

Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

Knowledge and experience of machining, turning of components for fabrication.

Knowledge in brazing (silver soldering) would be advantageous.

Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with ability to design own jigs/fixtures to aid process improvement.

Working in an ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 44001
