We are looking for skilled and compassionate Tigrinya Interpreters to support non-English-speaking clients across the UK. Whether assisting in hospitals, legal settings, social services, or community outreach, your voice will carry meaning, dignity, and clarity.
What You'll Do
As a Tigrinya Interpreter, you will:
Provide accurate and confidential interpretation between Tigrinya and English in various settings (e.g. NHS, courts, social services, schools). Translate spoken dialogue clearly and fluently, ensuring cultural nuances and tone are preserved. Support individuals in sensitive or high-stress situations with empathy and professionalism. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant terminology, especially in legal, medical, and community contexts. Uphold impartiality, confidentiality, and ethical interpreting standards.
You'll Thrive in This Role If You Are...
Fluent in Tigrinya and English (spoken and comprehension). An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Calm under pressure and able to work in emotionally charged environments. A team player with a deep sense of cultural sensitivity and empathy. Preferably experienced in interpretation (but we welcome newcomers with potential!).
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Pay: 15.00-20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 per week
Work Location: In person
