Job Description

Tod Timber are looking for an experienced Timber Frame Erector to join and be part of an already established team building timber frame kits to a high standard across multiple projects in West and Central Scotland.

About the role



As a Timber Frame Erector, you will be integral to the construction and assembly of timber structures. Using your technical skills and attention to detail, you must demonstrate a high level of site carpentry and joinery to ensure all finished products are completed on time and to the plans provided.

Key roles and responsibilities include;

Work as part of an established team, erecting timber frame buildings on a wide range of projects. Utilise hand and power tools to perform joinery and carpentry tasks efficiently. Be able to read and understand drawings. Fabricate and assemble timber frames to a good standard according to the drawings and specifications. Collaborate with team members on roofing and other construction projects. Have a good understanding of Health & Safety, and be able to carry out their duties whilst understanding the company RAMS. Ensure compliance with site safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment. Assist in heavy lifting and other physical tasks as needed.

Your Skills and Experience



This role is ideally suited to someone with experience in timber frame erecting and/or working within a construction environment, who can commute to sites and has experience of working in all weather conditions, using tools day-to-day and working to health & safety guidelines in their role.

The ideal candidate will be/have;

SVQ in Joinery or equivalent experience in a relevant role, equivalent to SCQF level 6. A valid Blue CSCS Card is essential. Experience in the construction of timber frame buildings is essential. Ability to complete duties whilst working safely. Be an effective communicator. Excellent attention to detail and quality standards. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Time Management Skills - able to prioritise workload and communicate tasks to ensure programmes are met. Able to work unsupervised. Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety requirements in the workplace and the ability to adhere to these. Hold a valid and current UK driving licence and be willing to travel to various job sites. Other competency cards desirable (Slinger/banksman, SSSTS, Telescopic, Pasma, First Aider)

Tod Timber Engineering is a member of the Structural Timber Association (STA) and is certified as STA Assure Gold and compliant with the Site Safe Scheme.

STA Assure is the STA's Quality Assurance Scheme that provides confidence in the use of structural timber and determines member competency and compliance. The member appraisal also includes a Site Safe audit, validating CDM compliance and Health & Safety Executive requirements for the protection and registration of timber structures during construction.

Our timber kits are built in our own bespoke manufacturing facility using a combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern frame line technology.

Tod Timber work with McTaggart Construction and other main contractors across Scotland.
