We are looking for a person with a passion for wood, with previous experience of making high quality wooden driveway gates

Your role as our next gate maker/carpenter based in Steeple Morden, Herts will be to manufacture high quality hardwood driveway gates in our modern workshop. You'll be happy working under your own initiative, and as part of a team. You might have experience in working from drawings and may have worked in a similar environment as a carpenter.

We are looking for reliable, enthusiastic and capable team members who are self motivated and able to get on with the job. Must be physically fit as the gates/oak posts sometimes need to be moved around the workshop. There is equipment to assist with this but there is some lifting involved too.

Friendly, hard-working, enthusiastic and conscientious with excellent attention to detail, and a "can do" and positive outlook.....You'll be described as trustworthy, reliable, having high standards, mature outlook and a good team player.... You'll have a flexible and helpful attitude and take a real pride in doing a top quality job.

The successful candidate must have previous carpentry experience, ideally with a similar product. A good attitude , excellent reliability and good timekeeping are all just as important as the appropriate skills. Full UK driving licence required, as there may be an occasional need to drive company vehicle to site to carry out repair work .

Forklift licence helpful but not essential.
