Role Overview



We are seeking a qualified and compassionate healthcare professional to join our team as a Tongue Tie Practitioner. The successful candidate will have a background in paediatrics, midwifery, or nursing and will be responsible for assessing and performing tongue tie divisions for infants. The practitioner will work closely with families to provide holistic support and advice on infant feeding, ensuring that parents feel informed and empowered throughout the process. This role is for an established tongue tie practice at a new location.

Key Responsibilities



Finalise draft policies and processes to establish new frenulotomy practice. Conduct thorough assessments of tongue tie using recognized tools such as the Hazelbaker score. Perform tongue tie divisions (frenulotomy) safely and effectively in a clinical setting. Provide parents with clear, evidence-based advice on feeding techniques and aftercare. Ensure that all procedures are performed in compliance with clinical governance standards. Maintain detailed records of assessments, procedures, and follow-ups. Offer emotional support to families, helping them navigate the challenges of infant feeding. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated with best practices in tongue tie management. Identify and explore opportunities to grow and develop the business.

Person Specification



Qualifications and Experience:



Registered Midwife, Paediatric Nurse, Health Visitor, musculoskeletal practitioner, or Infant Feeding Specialist with current registration (NMC or equivalent). Completed training in tongue tie assessment and division (e.g., Association of Tongue-tie Practitioners recognised course or equivalent). Experience working with infants and families in a clinical setting. Lactation Consultant qualification or a commitment to working towards this certification is desirable.
