Aptar is seeking a Toolmaker based in Leeds, UK. This is a fully onsite role working 42 hours per week across a rotating shift pattern (12-hour day shifts, Monday to Sunday).
As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing mould tools to ensure optimal performance in our production environment.
As a Tool Maker, you will:
Service mould tools for use in the Production department
Maintain and test mould hot runner systems
Disassemble and reassemble moulds
Perform metal polishing and fault identification
Respond to tool breakdowns and execute timely repairs
Advise on new tooling projects and design improvements
Manufacture fixtures and spare parts for tooling
Maintain high standards of record keeping and housekeeping (including 5S)
Use internal software such as Mattec, and Microsoft tools
Collaborate with the team to drive continuous improvement initiatives
Who We are Looking For:
We're seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented individual with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and demonstrates sound decision-making based on data.
Education
Toolmaking apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
Required Skills
Experience servicing and repairing injection mould tools
Ability to identify mould vs. process-related faults
Skilled in metal polishing and tool assembly/disassembly
Proficient in using internal systems and maintaining documentation
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Skills
Experience in injection moulding
Background as a Tool Maker or Tooling Engineer
Familiarity with injection machines
Experience in high-pressure manufacturing environments
