We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Toolmaker to join our Clients skilled manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in toolmaking, manual machining, and hand finishing of jigs and fixtures. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects and contribute to the production of high-quality tools and components.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacture, and maintain a wide range of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges used in manufacturing processes Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to create precise tools and components Operate various manual and CNC machines, including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses Perform manual machining operations with high accuracy and attention to detail Conduct hand finishing of tools, jigs, and fixtures to ensure optimal performance and quality Troubleshoot and repair existing tools and equipment as needed Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and quality control teams to improve manufacturing processes Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations Train and mentor junior toolmakers and apprentices

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Toolmaker in a manufacturing environment Proven expertise in toolmaking, manual machining, and hand finishing of jigs and fixtures Strong knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and material properties Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in toolmaking preferred Familiarity with quality control procedures and measuring instruments Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation purposes
