We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented toolroom technician to join our manufacturing team. The technician will be responsible for producing, maintaining and repairing precision tools, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on machining experience, and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings to deliver high-quality tooling that supports efficient production. The role will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure that tooling meets specifications and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Manufacture, maintain, and repair precision tools, jigs, and fixtures to support production operations.
Interpret and work from complex technical drawings and CAD models.
Operate manual and CNC machinery including milling, turning, grinding, and EDM.
Inspect and verify tooling dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring equipment.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve tooling-related issues.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance tooling performance and reliability.
Maintain accurate records of tooling modifications and repairs.
Ensure all tooling complies with relevant quality and safety standards.
Assist in the development of new tooling concepts and prototypes.

EDUCATION:
Recognised Toolmaking Apprenticeship or Vocational Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three years' experience in a toolmaking or precision machining role.
Experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environments is advantageous.
SKILLS:
Manual and CNC machining (milling, turning, grinding, EDM).
Use of CAD/CAM software is desirable.
Precision measurement and inspection techniques.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
