We are looking to recruit a tractor driver to work on our West Berkshire contract, based out of Thatcham.
This position works under the direction of the contract manager and supervisor to complete all tractor operations required on West Berkshire contract. Tractor driving tasks include but are not limited to, Grass cutting with a rotary mower, Slitting, harrowing and rolling of sports fields, Cutting open spaces and managing our summer meadow areas, over seeding of sports fields, hedge flailing and rural verge cutting.
Key Responsibilities
Always drive a tractor with attached implement in a safe and controlled manner. Tasks to be completed and implements to be used include, but is not limited to:
Cutting of the open spaces and sports field within West Berkshire
Rolling of Sports field and drilling of seed.
Use of hydraulic chain harrows
Attach and detach to the tractor in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
Implements are set and adjusted to suit the Contract specification.
Tractor and implements are operated correctly without endangering the driver or others in the working environment.
Tow implements between Depots in a safe and controlled manner.
Any faults or damage caused to equipment or property is reported.
Store all equipment in the correct location and in a clean and functional state.
Ensure all sites within area of responsibility are allocated sufficient resources, machinery and equipment to deliver services to the required standard or make alternative arrangements as appropriate.
Skills, Experience & Licenses
Essential for this role
Clean and current driver's license.
At least 2 years' experience with tractor work.
Must either be competent or be prepared to become competent on the use of the company's IT systems.
Ability to work on own initiative and effectively.
Ability to organise and plan work and rotas, and achieve deadlines.
Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels.
Strong communication skills.
Detailed knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
Provides leadership that implements behaviour change to reduce the risk of serious accidents and lower the number of common accidents.
Good understanding of managing individual team and contract performance.
Understanding of contract and client standards.
Ability to train others.
Safe driving.
Training will be provided during your employment
Qualifications
PA1 and PA6 Spraying Certificate
Chapter 8 Signing, lighting and guarding
First aid certificate
Full clean driving license
