a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a

Trade Counter Sales Assistant

to join the team in our

Beverley

branch who's as passionate about great service as we are.

Hours: 7.30am-5pm Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning 8-12

Location: Jewson, 36 Flemingate, Beverley HU17 0NU

Key Responsibilities

This is a multiskilled role where your main focus is always the customer. Serving at the trade counter, answering the phone, picking orders and managing stock in the yard and retail area. It's a busy and vital role in the team.

Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects Get to know our product lines and services in order to make the most of all customer interactions in line with our Jewson values Develop great relationships with new and existing customers, both face to face and over the phone Use our in-house systems to process customer orders, organise delivery times, and keep customers updated throughout their journey Dealing with lapsed account customers while also generating sales with new and existing customers Assist with picking customer orders in the yard, loading and unloading customer and delivery vehicles (forklift training provided) Keep the branch looking clean and tidy, maintain stock levels and merchandising of stock, to make a great first impression on our customers Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work

Required Skills and Experience

Previous industry experience would be beneficial but not essential Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work accordingly Experience in a busy customer facing role with strong communication skills IT literate A positive and flexible attitude
