Trade Counter Assistant/Driver

to join the team in our

Northallerton

branch who's as passionate about great service as we are.

A driving license is essential for this role

Hours: 7.30am-5pm Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning 8-12

Location: Jewson, Northend Sawmills, High St, Northallerton DL7 8EE

Key Responsibilities

This is a multi skilled role where you'll be the first point of contact for our customers - you'll be responsible for serving customers at the trade counter, processing orders and payments as well as picking, loading and performing deliveries to our customers. This is a key role in the whole branch operation.

Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects Get to know our product lines and services in order to make the most of all customer interactions Develop great relationships with new and existing customers, both face to face and over the phone Use our in-house systems to process customer orders, organise delivery times, and keep customers updated throughout their journey Keep the branch looking clean and tidy, launch new promotions and maintain stock levels, carrying out regular stock counts Perform deliveries to our customers, unloading orders at site, using our 3.5t transit van Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work

Required Skills and Experience

A clean, manual driving license, held for more than 1 year Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work accordingly Experience in a busy customer facing role with strong communication skills IT literate A positive and flexible attitude
