We are looking for a motivated and organised person to manage day-to-day operations at our trade counter. You will serve customers face-to-face, respond to customer emails, and place orders with suppliers. The ideal candidate is confident communicating with trade and retail customers, can work independently, and enjoys taking ownership of their work.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve customers at the trade counter, process orders, and offer product advice.
Respond to customer enquiries via email and phone in a professional manner.
Place and track orders with suppliers by email.
Maintain counter stock levels and ensure the counter area is tidy and welcoming.
Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure smooth order fulfilment.
Provide product information and quotations when required.
Handle basic admin such as invoicing, purchase orders, and stock adjustments.
Requirements:
Proven experience in trade counter, internal sales, or customer service in a trade/wholesale/DIY environment.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
Confident using email, spreadsheets, and ordering systems.
Reliable, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of building or roofing materials is an advantage (training provided).
