Cut Price Timber is an independent timber merchant based in Tranent East Lothian. Our brand is built around giving our customers the highest level of customer service possible, whilst continuing to improve on what we offer. Our staff are our main asset and the backbone to our business, without them we could not offer the service that we do.

We have a permanent position available on our trade counter. The trade counter is our front of house for any customers who walk in.

In this role you will meet customers face to face and to help them with their requirements by offering them advice and solutions to complete their project.

The trade counter has all of our smaller items for sale such as tools, ironmongery, workwear special offers. It would be your duty to ensure a clean and organised front of house, keeping our shelves stocked and promoting any special offers.

Role to include:

Working as a part of as team to achieve sales targets. Promoting further sales through key communication with customers and generate new business leads. Working together with other staff to proactively create a safe working environment. Opportunity for career development.

About You:

Sales experience is essential. Be able to work well in a team environment. Work well under pressure and have the ability to meet sales targets and fast-moving deadlines. Must show initiative, drive and self-motivation. Excellent communications skills including emailing and telephone manner. Customer Services is paramount to our business so building a rapport with customers is important. Experience dealing with trade customers and larger businesses would be of benefit. Knowledge of timber/building products is desirable. Health & safety awareness is paramount. Need to be adaptable and thrive in a dynamic environment.
The role would be a full-time permanent position.

Working Hours are currently flexible as we look to open our business over a 7 day period during high season, March to September. Keep this in mind as you would be required to work a Saturday typically 7.30am to 2.00pm and Sunday 10am to 2pm but not every week. As we add staff to our team we would then rework our rota. Week day business hours are 7.30am to 5.00pm

Rate of pay would be negotiable for the right candidate.
