Trade Sales Executive - Builders Merchants
Location: Tyseley, Birmingham Salary: From 30,000 - 40,000 per annum Hours: 46.5 hours per week, including some weekends

We're now looking for a motivated and experienced Trade Senior Sales Negotiator to join our retail sales team at our Tyseley branch, helping to drive sales and profitability while providing top-tier customer service. They must have experience of co-ordinating transport. Career progression to Assistant Branch Manager for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver outstanding customer service by engaging with customers and understanding their needs.
Provide expert advice on products, pricing, and availability.
Act as the go-to person for in-store customers, offering guidance and solutions.
Build and manage customer relationships, proactively identifying sales opportunities.
Prepare quotes, process orders, and follow up with customers to secure sales.
Manage transactions efficiently using the till system, maintaining security awareness.
Coordinate with the transport manager to ensure timely deliveries and responsible for co-ordinating two drivers based at the branch.
Handle customer complaints professionally, providing prompt resolutions.
Maintain a strong understanding of product ranges and industry trends.
Uphold high standards of health and safety compliance, ensuring the safety of both staff and customers.
Serve as the key point of contact for all health and safety duties, including regular updates and communication with management regarding safety protocols.
Conduct monthly health and safety checks, identifying and addressing any potential hazards in the workplace.
Serve as a Fire Marshal, ensuring safety and evacuation procedures are followed during emergencies.
Hold First Aid duties, acting as the first responder in case of any workplace injuries or emergencies.
Ensure that the work environment is kept clean, organized, and in compliance with health and safety standards.
Provide guidance to staff and customers regarding safety procedures and practices.
Assist with training employees on health and safety protocols when required.
Skills & Experience Required:
Previous experience in a builder's merchants, construction sales, or a similar trade environment.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a busy team.
Confidence in handling sales inquiries, quotations, and negotiations.
Ability to thrive under pressure and meet sales targets.
Good command of spoken and written English.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures and practices in a retail environment is desirable.
First Aid certification and Fire Marshal training is an advantage.
Ability to take responsibility for ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed within the store.
