Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Traffic Controller to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing traffic flow at construction sites, ensuring the safety of both workers and the public. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, paving, and construction will be essential in maintaining efficient operations and adhering to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Direct traffic around construction sites using appropriate signals and signage. Monitor and manage the flow of vehicles and pedestrians to ensure safety and compliance with traffic regulations. Communicate effectively with construction teams to coordinate activities and minimize disruptions. Operate heavy equipment as needed for paving and other construction tasks. Conduct regular inspections of traffic control devices to ensure they are functioning properly. Report any incidents or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly. Assist in setting up and dismantling traffic control setups as required.

Requirements

Previous experience in traffic control or a related field is preferred. Proficiency in heavy equipment operation is highly desirable. Familiarity with paving techniques and construction processes is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods. Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
