Job Summary
The Traffic Management CAD Technician is responsible for producing accurate and compliant traffic management drawings and plans using CAD software. The role supports traffic management, highways, and construction teams by translating design requirements, site information, and regulations into clear technical drawings for temporary traffic management (TTM) schemes.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed traffic management drawings and layouts using CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD)
Design temporary traffic management plans for highways, roadworks, events, and construction sites
Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and guidance (e.g. Chapter 8, TSRGD, DMRB, local authority requirements)
Interpret site surveys, traffic data, and design briefs to create accurate drawings
Amend and update drawings based on design reviews, site changes, or client feedback
Liaise with traffic engineers, planners, site managers, and local authorities as required
Maintain drawing registers, revision control, and document management systems
Assist with risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) where required
Support permit applications and submissions to local authorities
Ensure deadlines are met while maintaining high drawing accuracy and quality
