As part of their continued growth plans, they are looking to bring on two apprentices, providing a structured pathway to develop and grow into the role of Trainee Account Handler. The role reports to the aligned Team Leader.
Summary
As a Trainee Account Handler you will act as the first point of contact for the team, handling basic queries, directing calls, and providing quality service to clients across various insurance matters. Key responsibilities include policy administration, securing premium payments, obtaining quotes and renewal terms, and preparing files for brokers. You'll also support the team's daily tasks and shadow brokers to develop your skills, with the aim of progressing to an Account Handler role.
Responsibilities
Customer Service & Communication
: Act as the first point of contact for clients via phone and email, handling enquiries professionally and directing them appropriately while ensuring all communication is accurately recorded.
Policy Administration & Support
: Manage tasks related to obtaining quotes, renewals, mid-term adjustments, and processing new business using Acturis, referring complex cases to senior staff or insurers.
Compliance & Professional Standards
: Adhere strictly to FCA regulations, company procedures, and codes of conduct, ensuring all activity is compliant and up to standard.
Collaboration & Relationship Building
: Liaise effectively with clients, insurers, claim handlers, and colleagues, maintaining positive and professional relationships at all times.
General Office & Financial Duties
: Handle incoming post, manage the general enquiries mailbox, perform basic accounting tasks (e.g. receipts, bank reconciliations), and complete other assigned administrative responsibilities.

Communication Skills
: Strong verbal and written communication, including effective phone and face-to-face interactions, email writing, and report drafting. Confident in engaging with others and able to build rapport easily with clients and colleagues.
Time Management & Organization
: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and maintain excellent punctuality and productivity in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail & Accuracy
: High level of accuracy in data entry and documentation, with a focus on detail in all aspects of work.
Teamwork & Relationship Building
: Ability to collaborate with colleagues and build lasting relationships with customers, showing reliability, honesty, and a proactive attitude.
Technical & IT Proficiency
: Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) with accurate data input skills.
