Robert Gerrard (part of the Jensten Group) is delighted to be recruiting a Trainee Account Handler to join our specialist Lift Plan team in Chingford.


This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a rewarding career in Commercial Broking. As a Trainee, you'll receive full training and support to develop your knowledge of our products and learn how to confidently advise clients on their insurance needs.


Our friendly Lift Plan team consists of 7 colleagues and is part of a wider broking office of 21 people. As the UK's leading lift liability insurance broker, we offer the most comprehensive range of specialist policies for the lift and escalator industry. Over 700 companies rely on Lift Plan, our tailored liability package designed specifically for lift engineers, consultants, designers, and manufacturers.


This is an on-site role based at our Chingford office, which is conveniently located directly opposite Chingford train station.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide day-to-day support to clients in a professional, timely and efficient manner - handling quotations, new business, mid-term amendments and renewals Manage the administration of insurance policies, including midterm adjustments and cancellations, whilst ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with company standards Prepare and present insurance quotations and renewal terms to clients. Collaborate with underwriters to secure competitive and comprehensive coverage Communicating with clients and ensuring that they are fully aware of the cover provided and any gaps in cover or significant terms, conditions or exclusions Actively re-broke existing business to ensure clients receive the best possible coverage and competitive terms Assist clients when reporting a claim and liaise with claims handlers to facilitate an efficient claims resolution

About You:




As a Trainee Account Handler you will need to have strong customer service skills, the ability to multi-task and good time management skills.


Other skills/requirements:

Strong people skills, the ability to build rapport and develop good relationships A good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook A sincere interest in developing a career within the insurance/broking sector A desire to work towards CII Qualifications (essential) Work experience in a professional Office environment (advantageous but not essential)
