We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive trainee Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial services and financial accounting, with proficiency in various accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero or have relevant accounting qualifications . This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making within the organisation.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting principles.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
Utilise accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) to record transactions and generate reports.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing analysis on variances.
Collaborate with team members to mentor junior staff and enhance their understanding of financial management practices.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including tax obligations.
Support the audit process by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with external auditors.
Qualifications
Proven experience in financial services or financial accounting roles or financial qualifications
Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or PeopleSoft.
Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Previous experience in mentoring or training is advantageous but not essential.
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
