Trainee Accounts Preparation Assistant

Due to continued growth, we have a new vacancy in our accounts preparation team. This is an excellent opportunity for you to join a modern, fast growing and progressive accountancy practice and work in a friendly and supportive environment.

We are keen to invest in the right candidate and provide study support where required, the successful candidate will be offered the opportunity to study for the AAT or ACA qualification.

This role is ideally suited for someone just leaving full time education and looking for a career within an accountancy practice.

The position involves working closely with the accounts preparation team and senior accountants within the firm and will involve tasks including:

Checking and scanning of client records

Data entry

Bank reconciliations

Monthly bookkeeping

Preparation of VAT returns

Drafting accounts for a variety of businesses

Training within our Payroll Department may also be offered for the right candidate.

No previous experience in an accountancy role is required but the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

Excellent communication skills they wish to develop further with both colleagues and clients

Enjoy working as part of a team, be willing to help others and ask for help when needed

Have a good grasp of IT and enjoy learning new systems

Work accurately with excellent attention to detail

Be able to take on constructive feedback and work to improve and develop skills and progress through the firm

Salary will meet National Minimum Wage to start with.
