Leapfrog Therapies are are modern and progressive company providing a variety of education and therapy services for children and young people. We have an exciting new opportunity for a trainee ABA Therapist to join our team! If you're passionate about delivering values driven behaviour and education programs, this could be the role for you! All programs have behaviour analysis at the core, as well as a strong PBS framework, Verbal Behaviour Approach, and incorporate education research, parenting research, attachment theory and trauma informed care.

This is an ideal position for a psychology graduate, or someone with previous SEN experience looking to expand their skillset. We are looking for someone who is independent, capable of working well in a team, and who can demonstrate consistent patience and compassion. Please note that previous work experience with SEN children is essential for this role. This is a self-employed position, paying 12.50-13.50 an hour (experience dependent), with good opportunities for progression.

Main duties

:

You will work with a client based primarily in Aidrie ML6 4-6 hours per week,

Wednesday after 11.30am

and

Fridays 2pm

+ Workshops (therapy review, feedback and demonstrations) once a month. You will use the principles of applied behavioural analysis to teach communication and life skills. You will run therapy alone, in the client's home, using initiative and, keeping resources organised. Sessions will later take place in a school/nursery environment. Sessions are play based, child-centred and incorporate a lot of natural environment teaching. Please be aware that as part of play, some running, lifting and general physical activity may be needed. You will work closely with parents and supervisor. You will receive regular support and training from the Behavioural Consultant.

Essential

:

You must have previous SEN experience working with children

You must be open to learning new approaches and procedures

You must be reliable and committed

You must have excellent communication skills

You must have right to work in the UK and be able to be self-employed

You must have a clean Enhanced DBS check or be willing to get one

Desirable

:

You may have previous experience in VB-ABA/PBS

You may have availability to work with additional children in future

You may have previous experience with PBS

You may have use of a car, for ease of getting to clients
