Trainee Business Development Executive
. This is a fantastic entry-level role for someone eager to begin a career in business development, bid writing, and stakeholder engagement within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
You will be working alongside experienced members of the Business Development team, gaining hands-on experience in researching opportunities, supporting tender submissions, and learning about the processes involved in securing commercial and government contracts.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Trainee Business Development Executive, you will:
Support the Business Development team in researching new business opportunities across public, private and third sectors.
Assist in gathering and organising information required for pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and tender submissions.
Help draft and proof-read bid responses under supervision, ensuring clarity, consistency and quality.
Contribute to maintaining the bid library and internal records of submissions and outcomes.
Support in preparing case studies and supporting documents for inclusion in proposals.
Work closely with colleagues across departments to understand how projects are delivered once bids are secured.
Undertake relevant training and development as part of your professional growth.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A keen eye for detail and accuracy
Good organisational and time management skills
Confident using Microsoft Office and other digital tools
Eagerness to learn and develop professionally
A team player with a positive attitude
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
Desirable:
An understanding of business development, marketing, or public sector tendering processes
Previous experience in an office or administrative role
