Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the purchasing process, ensuring that our organization has the necessary materials and products to meet operational needs. This position requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, inventory control, and effective negotiation skills to secure the best pricing and terms from suppliers. The Buyer will collaborate closely with various departments to optimize procurement strategies and maintain efficient inventory levels.

Duties

Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials and products. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of quality products. Monitor inventory levels and implement materials management strategies to prevent shortages or excess stock. Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate the transportation of goods and manage supply chain operations effectively. Analyze pricing trends and negotiate contracts to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards. Participate in production planning meetings to align purchasing activities with manufacturing schedules. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding procurement practices.

Skills

Strong understanding of materials management, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and inventory control processes. Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record in procurement and sourcing. Knowledge of supply chain management principles and logistics operations. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms related to purchasing activities is a plus. Ability to analyze data for informed decision-making regarding contracts, pricing, and inventory levels. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments and with external vendors.
